Councilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #96-06-149 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS <br />THROUGH #96-15 (1996 <br />SEALCOATING) <br /> <br />BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br /> #96-01 THROUGH ~96-05 AND #96-07 <br /> STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolutions//96-04-080 through//96-04-093 were adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council on April 23, 1996, authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications for the <br />above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolutions//96-05-101 through//96-05-114 were adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council on May 14, 1996, approving the plans and specifications and authorizing the <br />advertisement for bids for the above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 1996 Street Maintenance <br />Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on June 7, 1996; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: <br /> <br />Bidder <br /> <br />Amount of Bid <br /> <br />Allied Blacktop Co. <br />Astech <br /> <br />$151,153.10 <br />$158,669.00 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />$139,121.00 <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, it appears that Allied Blacktop Co. is the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Allied Blacktop Co. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the 1996 Street <br />Maintenance Program - Sealcoating (Improvement Projects #96-01 through //96-05 and <br />//96-07 through 4/96-15) in the amount of $151,153.10. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to retum forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beahen upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: ' <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Beyer <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
