Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolutions and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #96-07-166 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #96-17 (RETENTION POND, UTILITY, AND <br />STREET IMPROVEMENT FOR MCKINLEY STREET EAST) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications for the <br />above referenced work by motion on January 23, 1996; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the retention pond, utility and <br />street improvement for McKinley Street East, bids were received, opened and tabulated according <br />to law on June 28, 1996; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: <br /> <br />Bidder <br /> <br />Amount of Bid <br /> <br />Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. <br />Volk Sewer & Water, Inc. <br />Northdale Construction, Inc. <br />Bonine Excavating, Inc. <br />Ryan Contracting, Inc. <br />Hardrives, Inc. <br />W.B. Miller, Inc. <br />Old is Gold Construction, Inc. <br /> <br />$257,481.50 <br />$196,788.50 <br />$231,202.33 <br />$212,416.10 <br />$220,938.50 <br />$214.606.60 <br />$215,685.90 <br />$215,229.60 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />$210,000.00 <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, it appears that Volk Sewer & Water, Inc. is the lowest responsible <br />bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized an directed to enter into a <br />contract with Volk Sewer & Water, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the retention <br />pond, utility and street improvements for McKinley Street East in the amount of <br />$196,788.50. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to the lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beyer upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof.' <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin <br />Councilmember Zimmennan <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Peterson <br /> <br /> <br />
