Councilmember Beyer introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #96-08-211 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF PHONE SYSTEM FROM CENTRAL TELE-SYSTEMS WHEREAS, at the Finance Committee meeting of August 27, 1996. staff presented a request to replace the existing phone system at the Municipal Center in conjunction with the installation of a new phone system at the Police Facility; and WHEREAS, it was known that the purchase of both systems could not exceed $25,000 so requests for quotes were solicited; and WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: Com_nanv Phone Voice Mail Data Wiring System |PD] Central Tele- $20,045 $5,995 $4,159 Systems AT&T $24,305 $7,270 $4,351 Apollo $ 27,626 $7,1 13 $5,3 91 Communications MITEL Systems $28,303 N/A $4,737 AND WHEREAS, the funding of such a purchase was not included in the Adopted 1996 General Fund Budget and only a portion funded in the police facility construction account; and WHEREAS, there is available from the Equipment Replacement Fund, $9,400 from the current system; and WHEREAS, the funding for the systems could be achieved through a amendment and allocation of the purchase to both the General Fund and the police construction account as follows: budget facility General Fund Police Facility Account Phone System Less: Amount Available from Equipment Replacement Fund Data Communications Wiring Voice Mail After Hours Buzzer - Police 911 Call Box - Police Loud Bell - Fire Department Net Funding Required $14,633 (6,800) N/A 4,376 N/A N/A 119 $12.328 $5,412 (2,600) 4,159 1,619 285 270 N/A $9.145 AND WHEREAS, Central Tele-Systems is the lowest bidder.
