Councilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #96-09-217 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT g96-21 (CONSTRUCTION OF WELL NO. 3) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to a motion passed by the Ramsey City Council on February 13, <br />1996, the Consulting Engineer, Dick Foster, P.E. of BRA, Inc., has prepared plans and <br />specifications for the construction of City Well No. 3 (Improvement Project //96-21) and has <br />presented such contract documents and specifications to the Council for approval; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of City Well No. <br />3, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on August 16, 1996; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: <br /> <br />Bidder <br /> <br />Amount of Bid <br /> <br />Alberg Water Services, LLC. <br />E.H. Renner & Sons, Inc. <br />Keys Well Drilling, Inc. <br />Layne Minnesota Co. <br />Bergerson - Caswell, Inc. <br /> <br />$192,420.00 <br />$206,400.00 <br />$218,521.00 <br />$220,963.50 <br />$226,075.00 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />$225,500.00 <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, it appears that Alberg Water Services, LLC. is the lowest responsible <br />bidder; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 27, 1996, the Ramsey City Council passed a motion awarding <br />Improvement Project 4t96-21 to Alberg Water Services, LLC. in the amount of $192,420, and <br />requested that a resolution confirming this award be placed on the September 9, 1996 agenda. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Alberg Water Services, LLC. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the <br />construction of City Well No. 3 in the amount of $192,420. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beahen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof.' <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br /> <br />
