Councilmember Beahen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION g96-11-324 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT g96-22 (CONSTRUCTION OF WELL HOUSE AND <br />CONNECTING WATERMAIN FOR WELL NO. 3) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to a motion passed by the Ramsey City Council on February 13, <br />1996, consulting engineer Dick Foster, P.E. of BRA, Inc., prepared plans and specifications for <br />the construction of a well house and connecting watermain to facilitate the addition of Well No. 3 <br />to the City's water distribution system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution g96-10-283, dated October 10, 1996, approved the plans and <br />specifications and ordered the advertisement of bids for said work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the advertisement for bids for the construction of a well house <br />and connecting watermain for Well No. 3, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to <br />law on November 6, 1996; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: <br /> <br />Bidder <br /> <br />Amount of Bid <br /> <br />M. C. Magney Construction, Inc. is the lowest <br />responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with M. C. Magney Construction, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the <br />construction of a well house and connecting watermain for Well No. 3 in the amount of <br />$277,838. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beyer and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Beyer <br /> <br /> <br />
