Councilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION g96-12-345 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR ACCEPTANCE <br />OF PRUDENTIAL HELPING HANDS PROGRAM GRANT AND PURCHASE OF <br />AUTOMATIC DEFIBRILLATOR DEVICE FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the Finance Committee meeting of December 10, 1996, staff presented a <br />request for the acceptance of an Prudential Helping Hands Program grant for the purchase of an <br />automatic defibrillator device for the Fire Department; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the receipt of the grant and related expenditures were not originally <br />authorized in the 1996 Adopted General Fund Budget; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the grant covers 50% of the costs associated with the initial purchase and <br />requires matching funds by the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the automatic defibrillator device can be purchased for a total cost of <br />$3,755.19; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the matching funds are available through a budget line item re-allocation <br />from training to capital equipment; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the training for use of the automatic defibrillator device can be provided by <br />the City of Ramsey Police Department trainer. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes a budget amendment increasing Fire <br />Department Capital Outlay by $3,755.19 and reducing the training budget line item by <br />$1,877.59. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes a budget amendment increasing 1996 <br />General Fund Revenues by $1,877.59 for acceptance of the Prudential Helping Heart <br />Program Grant. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of an automatic defibrillator <br />device for a cost of $3,755.19. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beahen, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
