Councilmember Haas Steffen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption; <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #97-02-048 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY OF RAMSEY'S 1998 BUDGET <br />CALENDAR <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Charter states that a budget calendar shall be established <br />annually by resolution; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey's Finance Committee recommends the Council adopt the <br />following calendar: <br /> <br />February 25 <br /> <br />Council adopts the 1998 Budget Calendar. <br /> <br />March 3 <br /> <br />Finance Officer to distribute sunmaary of 1998 staffing and capital outlay <br />requests and forms for 1999 staffing and capital outlay requests to <br />Department Heads and supervisors. <br /> <br />March 14 <br /> <br />Department Heads and supervisors submit staffing and capital outlay <br />revisions/requests for 1998/1999 to Finance Officer and City Administrator. <br /> <br />March 21 <br /> <br />Finance Officer summarizes staffing and capital outlay revisions/requests <br />for 1998/1999 and distributes to Department Heads and supervisors. <br /> <br />April 1 - 2 <br /> <br />Initial budget work sessions with Department Heads and supervisors to <br />review 1998/1999 staffing and capital outlay requests. <br /> <br />Ballots for 1998/1999 capital outlay requests distributed to Department <br />Heads and supervisors for voting and ranking of all departmental requests <br />for 1998/1999. <br /> <br />April 7 <br /> <br />Ballots for 1998/1999 capital outlay requests to be returned to the Finance <br />Officer. <br /> <br />April 10 <br /> <br />May 16 <br /> <br />May 16 <br /> <br />Budget work session with Department Heads and supervisors to discuss <br />outcome of voting on 1998/1999 capital requests. <br /> <br />Finance Officer to distribute 1998 Cost Center Budget Worksheets to <br />Deparnnent Heads and supervisors. Worksheets include actual <br />expenditures for 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 year-to-date and adopted 1997 <br />budget. <br /> <br />Finance Officer to distribute listing of fixed assets as of December 31, 1996 <br />with Replacement Fund requirements as of December 31, 1996 to <br />Department Heads and supervisors for review including item existence, <br />accuracy, replacement values and number of years remaining in useful life. <br /> <br />Finance Officer to distribute current Schedule of Rates, Fees and Charges to <br />staff. <br /> <br />City Administrator to distribute most recent version of goals, objectives and <br />5-year departmental plans to Department Heads and supervisors. <br /> <br /> <br />
