Councilmember Haas Steffen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 97-03-054 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST FROM <br />MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (MnDOT) AN ENGINEERING <br />STUDY TO DETERMINE THE APPROPRIATE SPEED LIMIT FOR COUNTY ROAD <br />#83, COUNTY ROAD #56 AND COUNTY ROAD #57 WITHIN THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, County Road #83, County Road #56 and County Road #57 within the City <br />were last previously studied for appropriate speed limits postings in 1985, 1977 and 1975, <br />respectively; and <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, traffic levels have increased considerably on these highways in the interim; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, new speed limits may be appropriate as a result of changes in the traveling <br />publics habits over this length of time; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the highway segments are within the City of Ramsey, but are under <br />jurisdiction of Anoka County. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1) That City of Ramsey does hereby support and endorse a request by Anoka County to <br />request a traffic study be conducted by MnDOT for the purpose of determining the appropriate <br />speed limits for the above referenced segments of roadway. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Beahen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
