Councilmember Beyer introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION/t97-04-067 RESOLUTION APPROVING ABATEMENT OF CERTAIN SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS CERTIFIED IN 1996 FOR CITY PROJECT #96-12, COUNTY PROJECT #82562 DUE TO CITY ACQUISITION OF TAX FORFEIT PROPERTY WHEREAS, Resolution #96-10-297 adopted the original assessment roll related to Project #96-12 described as the sealcoating and crack filling of the east half of section 21 unplatted; and WHEREAS, PIN #21-32-25-43-0034 had been special assessed a single unit; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey acquired this property during 1996 through tax forfeiture proceedings; and WHEREAS, the special assessments should not have been levied against this parcel; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate to abate special assessments levied on City owned property. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council hereby approves the abatement of certain special assessments for Project #96-12, County Fund #82562, for PIN #21-32-25-413-0034 for payable 1997. 2) That the City Council hereby approves the abatement of certain special assessments for Project #96-12, County Fund #82562, for PIN #21-32-25-413-0034 for future payable years 1998 and 1999. 3) That the City Council hereby instructs the Finance Officer to process all paperwork as required by the Anoka County Auditors Office in regard to the abatement and notify the property owner of the Council's action. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councilmember Beyer Councilmember Zimmerman Councilmember Beahen Councilmember Haas Steffen Resolution #97-04-067 Page 1 of 2
