Councilmember Haas Steffen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #97-05-143 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE <br />INSTALLATION OF PARK SHELTERS AT RIVERS BEND AND EMERALD POND <br />PARKS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, included in the adopted park project budgets for Rivers Bend and Emerald <br />Pond Parks was funding for the construction of shelters, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council, at their April 22, 1997 meeting, authorized the <br />advertisement for bids for the purchase and installation of the two park shelters, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota bid law, bids were advertised and the following <br />bids received: <br /> <br /> Cedar <br />Two Shelters Shingles Cupola Total Bid <br /> <br />St. Croix Recreation $40,105 $5,595 $1,390 $47,090 <br />Flanagan Sales $43,732 $7,110 $3,038 $53,880 <br />E.F. Anderson $48,420 $8,300 $2,800 $59,520 <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, the bids were opened and reviewed on May 14, 1997, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, St. Croix Recreation was the low bidder for the two park shelters with <br />cedar shingles and cupolas, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, St. Croix Recreation also included an alternate for weather vanes on each <br />of the two shelters at a cost of $350 each, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, bidders were notified of liquidated damages or $20 per day [$10 per <br />shelter] if construction is not completed by the date specified on the bid forms, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, St. Croix has indicated that installation will be completed no later than <br />August 5, 1997. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of two park shelters with <br />cedar shingles, cupolas and weather vanes from St. Croix Recreation for a cost not-to- <br />exceed $47,790. <br /> <br /> <br />
