Councilmember Beyer introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #97-06-150 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS #97-01 THROUGH #97-15, EXCLUSIVE OF #97-14 (1997 <br />STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM - CRACK FILLING) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolutions #97-05-092 through #97-05-105 were adopted by Ramsey City <br />Council on May 13, 1997, authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications for the above <br />referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolutions #97-05-108 through #97-05-121 were adopted by Ramsey City <br />Council on May 13, 1997, approving the plans and specifications and authorizing the <br />advertisement for bids for the above-referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 1997 Street Maintenance <br />Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on June 6, 1997; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received for Division A - Crack Filling: <br /> <br />Bidder Amount of Bid <br /> <br />Allied Blacktop Co. <br />Bituminous Roadways, Inc. <br />Bergman Companies, Inc. <br />ASTECH Corp. <br /> <br />$26,865.60 <br />$40,916.06 <br />$35,434.80 <br />$36,284.00 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />$42,452.00 <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, it appears that Allied Blactop Co. is the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Allied Blactop Co. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the 1997 Street <br />Maintenance Program - Crack Filling (Improvement Projects #97-01 through #97-15, <br />exclusive of #97-14) in the amount of $26,865.60. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br /> <br />
