Councilmember Beyer introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #97-06-151 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS #97-01 THROUGH #97-15, EXCLUSIVE OF #97-14 (1997 <br />STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM - SEALCOATING) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolutions #97-05-092 through #97-05-105 were adopted by Ramsey City <br />Council on May 13, 1997, authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications for the above <br />referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolutions #97-05-108 through #97-05-121 were adopted by Ramsey City <br />Council on May 13, 1997, approving the plans and specifications and authorizing the <br />advertisement for bids for the above-referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 1997 Street Maintenance <br />Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on June 6, 1997; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received for Division B - Sealcoating: <br /> <br />Bidder Amount of Bid <br /> <br />Allied Blacktop Co. <br />Bituminous Roadways, Inc. <br />ASTECH Corp. <br /> <br />$90,814.40 <br />$97,916.00 <br />$75,292.80 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />$118,308.00 <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, it appears that ASTECH Corp. is the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with ASTECH Corp. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the 1997 Street <br />Maintenance Program - Sealcoating (Improvement Projects #97-01 through #97-15, <br />exclusive of #97-14) in the amount of $75,292.80. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> <br />
