Councilmember Beyer introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #97-06-152 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS #97-16 AND #97-17 (1997 STREET MAINTENANCE <br />PROGRAM - BITUMINOUS OVERLAY) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolutions #97-05-106 and #97-05-107 were adopted by Ramsey City <br />Council on May 13, 1997, authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications for the above <br />referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolutions #97-05-122 and #97-05-123 were adopted by Ramsey City <br />Council on May 13, 1997, approving the plans and specifications and authorizing the <br />advertisement for bids for the above-referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 1997 Street Maintenance <br />Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on June 6, 1997; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received for Division C - Bituminous Overlay: <br /> <br />Bidder Amount of Bid <br /> <br />Bituminous Roadways, Inc. <br />W. B. Miller, Inc. <br /> <br />$63,000.00 <br />$57,225.00 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />$52,125.00 <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, it appears that W. B. Miller, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with W. B. Miller, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the 1997 Street <br />Maintenance Program - Bituminous Overlay (Improvement Projects #97-16 and #97-17) <br />in the amount of $57,225.00. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> <br />
