Councilmember Beahen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #97-06-164 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE SKID STEER LOADER AND IMPLEMENTS WHEREAS, included in the 1997 Adopted General Fund Budget is $27,000.00 for the purchase of one skid steer loader; and WHEREAS, the Finance Committee, at their May 27, 1997 meeting authorized the advertisement of bids for the purchase of one skid steer loader; and WHEREAS, the City Council, on May 27, 1997, ratified the Finance Committee's approval of the purchase of a skid steer loader; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota bid law, bids were advertised and the following bids were received: DEALER MODEL BID PRICE Lano Equipment St. Joseph Equipment Longlake Tractor Scharber & Sons RDO Equipment Melroe Bobcat $17,329.50 Case $18,630.00 New Holland $20,287.00 John Deere $20,389.00 Mustang $22,500.00 AND WHEREAS, the bids have been reviewed by the City Engineer, Public Works Supervisor and Parks/Utilities Supervisor and they have determined that the machine bid by the low bidder, Lano Equipment, meets the required specifications; and WHEREAS, implements for the skid steer loader were also bid as alternates; and WHEREAS, it would be desirable to purchase the trailer, 42" pallet forks, 72" leveling/planer bar, and the U-blade for the skid steer loader. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) The City Administrator is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Lano Equipment, in the name of the City of Ramsey, for the purchase of one Melroe Bobcat skid steer loader, the trailer, 42" pallet forks, 72" leveling/planer bar, and the U-blade at a price not-to- exceed $24,853.24 [which includes sales tax].
