the West line of said Northwest Quarter for a distance of 90 feet, and proceeding thence <br />in a straight line and in a Northerly direction to the point of commencement, <br /> <br />and except <br /> <br />That part of Lot 1, Auditor's Subdivision No. 96, lying south of the following described <br />line: Commencing on the West line of said Lot 1 at a point 330.00 feet South of the <br />Northwest comer of said Lot 1, thence East at tight angles to said west line a distance of <br />189.2 feet to the East line of said Lot 1. <br /> <br />("Subject Property") <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA that the findings of fact relating <br />to the request are determined to be as follows: <br /> <br />That on June 11, 1997, Metropolitan Visions, hereinafter referred to as "Applicant," <br />properly applied for a conditional use permit to exceed the sign size restrictions in the B-3 <br />Highway Business District. <br /> <br />That the applicant appeared before the Ramsey Planning Commission for a public hearing <br />pursuant to Section 9.03.04 of the City Code on July 1, 1997, and that said public heating <br />was properly advertised, and that the minutes of said public heating are hereby <br />incorporated as a part of these findings by reference. <br /> <br />3. That the Subject Property is approximately 1 acre in size. <br /> <br />That the Subject Property and surrounding adjacent parcels are zoned B-3 Highway <br />Business. <br /> <br />That Section 9.12.08, Subd. 1 of the Ramsey City Code states that the sign surface area on <br />a ground sign in a commercial district shall not exceed 100 square feet. <br /> <br />That the amount of sign surface area currently existing on the ground sign on the Subject <br />Property is approximately 104 square feet. <br /> <br />That the Applicant is proposing to add a reader board to the sign structure to advertise <br />weekly specials in the convenience store without the use of portable signs which are only <br />allowed 4 times a year. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />That the size of the reader board is 21 square feet which will result in a total sign surface of <br />125 square feet. <br /> <br />That the City has previously approved a conditional use permit for an overage in sign space <br />in the B-3 Highway Business District to advertise products offered on the site. <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION//97-07-176 <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
