Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #97-08-205 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE 1997 TRAIL PAVING PROJECTS WHEREAS, on April 22, 1997, Council authorized staff to advertise for bids for the following four trail paving projects: a) b) c) d) 153rd Avenue from Nowthen Boulevard to Municipal Center Property Lake Itasca from the Trail Head to Andrie Court Ramsey Elementary School to Sunwood Drive Cottonwood Park AND WHEREAs, four companies, meeting the bid specifications, bid on the projects; and WHEREAS, Omann Brothers, Inc. was the low bidder for each project; and WHEREAS, Omann Brothers, Inc. has previously completed park and trail work in the City of Ramsey; and WHEREAS, Council met on August 12, 1997, and awarded the bid, as follows to Omann Brothers: 153rd Avenue project at a not-to-exceed cost of $5,500, contingent upon receiving authorization to proceed with the landowner. (Funding source is the undesignated interest earnings from the Park Development Fund.) b) Lake Itasca from the Trail Head to Andrie Court at a not-to-exceed cost of $30,000. (Funding source is the Lake Itasca Trail and Trail Head Project Fund.) c) Ramsey Elementary to Sunwood Project at a not-to-exceed cost of $14,750. (Funding source is the critical trail link allocation (EDA) of the 1997 CIP.) d) Cottonwood Park Project at a not-to-exceed cost of $40,000 for the City portion (funding source would be the EDA), and $10,000 for the Anoka Electric Cooperative portion should AEC wish to provide funding for that segment. AND WHEREAS, Council asked that a formal resolution containing this information be placed on the August 26, 1997, Council Consent Agenda.
