Councilmember Haas Steffen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #97-09-252 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #97-21 (CONSTRUCTION OF ALPINE PARK) FOR WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of Alpine Park (Improvement Project #97-21), bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on September 5, 1997; and WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: Bidder Amount of Bid Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. W. B. Miller, Inc. Rohling Green Corporation Glen Rehbein Excavating, Inc. $323,691.00 $335,740.75 $344,952.90 $357,315.00 Engineer's Estimate $310,000.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of Alpine Park (Improvement Proj eot #97-21) in the amount of $323,691.00. 2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Beyer, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councilmember Haas Steffen Councilmember Beyer Councilmember Beahen Councilmember Zimmerman
