Councilmember Haas Steffen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #97-10-297 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A BUDGET AMENDMENT TO REALLOCATE $5,000 <br />FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUND FOR YOUTH FIRST <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Youth First is a cooperative effort to encourage the development of positive <br />attributes in young people; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has joined the Cities of Andover and Anoka to support <br />the concept of Youth First and to implement activities advancing those concepts; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the effectiveness of Youth First requires administrative activities for <br />meeting and communication purposes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County is already providing support to Youth First; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the participating cities are being asked to provide financial assistance to <br />support the activities necessary for Youth First to continue to function; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes a budget amendment to reallocate $5,000 <br />from excess 1997 revenues for a contribution to Youth First. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beahen, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
