Councilmember Beahen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #97-10-317 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF <br />NATURAL RESOURCES FOR A SNOWMOBILE SAFETY ENFORCEMENT GRANT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is eligible to participate in the Department of Natural <br />Resources Snowmobile Safety Enforcement Grant Program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has been notified that it is eligible to receive a grant in <br />the amount of $1,000; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this grant can be used to fund or supplement the enforcement of all <br />snowmobile statutes, regulations and rules, including but not limited to alcohol related offenses <br />and illegal operation of snowmobiles, and overtime incurred or the special equipment required to <br />provide these enforcement services and requires no matching funds from the City. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor, City Administrator, Finance Officer <br />and Police Chief to sign and submit an application for the Snowmobile Safety <br />Enforcement Grant to the DNR in the amount of $1,000. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beyer, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
