Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #98-08-172 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE 1998 STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM - DMSION D - STREET RECONSTRUCTION OF URANIUM STREET IN BURNS TOWNSHIP WHEREAS, the nature of this work is consistent with, and adjacent to, the bituminous overlay work to be performed in Rodeo Hills Estates (Improvement Project #98-10); and WHEREAS, Bums Township approached the City of Ramsey to include the above- referenced work in the 1998 Street Maintenance Program as Division D; and WHEREAS, Bums Township has agreed to pay for all costs associated with Division D; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 1998 Street Maintenance Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on July 8, 1998; and WHEREAS, the following quotes were received for Division D - Street Reconstruction: Bidder Amount of Bid Hardrives, Inc. North Valley, Inc. W. B. Miller, Inc. Midwest Asphalt Corporation $34,650.00 23,221.85 22,550.00 28,757.50 Engineer's Estimate 20,500.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that W. B. Miller, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a formal agreement with Bums Township wherein Bums Township agrees to reimburse the City of Ramsey for all costs associated with Division D of the 1998 Street Maintenance Program. 2) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with W. B. Miller, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the 1998 Street Maintenance Program - Division D - Street Reconstruction of Uranium Street in Bums Township in the amount of $22,550.00.
