Councilmember Haas Steffen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #98-09-222 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />#98-22 (1998 WATERMAIN LOOPING) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to a motion passed on August 25, 1998, the Ramsey City Council <br />authorized preparation of plans and specifications for the 1998 Watermain Looping <br />(Improvement Project #98-22); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Engineer (John Bertelsen of John Oliver & Associates, Inc.) has <br />prepared the plans and specifications for the 1998 Watermain Looping (Improvement Project <br />#98-22) and has presented such to the Council for approval. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That such plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part <br />hereof, are hereby approved. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Administrator shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper <br />and in the Construction Bulletin, an advertisement for bids upon the making of such <br />improvement under such approved contract documents and specifications. The <br />advertisement shall be published for 21 days, shall specify the work to be done, shall state <br />that bids will be received by the City Engineer until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, <br />1998, at which time they will be publicly opened in the Council Chambers of the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center by the City Engineer and the City Clerk (or their representatives), will <br />then be tabulated, and will be considered by the Ramsey City Council at 7:00 p.m. on <br />Tuesday, October 27, 1998. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during <br />consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity to address the Council on the issue <br />of responsibility. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City <br />Engineer and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check <br />payable to the City of Ramsey for five (5) percent of the amount of such bid. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereofi <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Beyer <br /> <br /> <br />
