Councilmember Beahen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION//98-10-262 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #98-22 (WATERMAIN LOOPING) <br /> <br />CONTRACT FOR <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to a motion passed on August 25, 1998, City Council authorized <br />the preparation of plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the watermain looping, bids were <br />received, opened and tabulated according to law on October 16, 1998; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: <br /> <br />Bidder Amount of Bid <br /> <br />W.B. Miller, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with W.B. Miller, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the watermain <br />looping in the amount of$115,510.85. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />The award of this contract is contingent upon the City acquiring the necessary easement <br />rights from the property owners as determined by the City Attorney. <br /> <br /> <br />
