Councilmember Beahen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #98-11-273 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #98-21 (SECTION 28 SEWER AND WATER EXTENSION) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on October 13, 1998, City Council adopted Resolution #98-10-245 <br />authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Section 28 sewer and water <br />extension, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on November 6, 1998; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: <br /> <br />Bidder <br /> <br />Amount of Bid <br /> <br />Kuechle Underground, Inc. <br />Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. <br />W.B. Louis Construction, Inc. <br /> <br />$340,778.65 <br />$382,184.25 <br />$384,841.85 <br />$390,454.15 <br />$392,367.31 <br />$394,675.33 <br />$400,841.50 <br />$421,996.25 <br />$423,261.70 <br />$439,279.55 <br />$456,287.75 <br />$458,884.10 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />$387,629.50 <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, it appears that Kuechle Underground, Inc. is the lowest responsible <br />bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Kuechle Underground, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the <br />Section 28 sewer and water extension in the amount of $340,778.65. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />The award of this contract is contingent upon receipt of agency approvals and the City <br />obtaining the necessary temporary easement rights-of-entry. <br /> <br /> <br />
