Councilmember Hendriksen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #99-04-072 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ACCESSORY EQUIPMENT <br />FOR SURPLUS RIFLES FROM DRUG FORFEITURE FUNDS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey Police Department retains a certain percentage of funds <br />pertaining to drug confiscations; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these funds are to be used exclusively for the purchase of public safety <br />equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey Police Department would like to use these funds to purchase <br />accessory equipment necessary to modify three rifles for deployment in the City's squad cars; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the sum of $700.00 is presently reserved in the Special Revenue Fund <br />pertaining to drug forfeitures. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of necessary equipment to outfit <br />three semi-automatic rifles for deployment in the squad cars in the amount of $700.00 to be paid <br />for with drug forfeiture funds. <br /> <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Anderson <br /> <br />and the following voted against: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
