Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #99-06-108 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE 1998 <br />STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM - DIVISION C - BITUMINOUS OVERLAY <br />(IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS #99-04 THROUGH #99-07) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />Council on May 11, <br />referenced work; and <br /> <br />Resolutions 4499-05-083 through #98-05-086 were adopted by Ramsey City <br />1999, authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications for the above <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />1999, approving the <br />referenced work; and <br /> <br />Resolution #99-06-104 was adopted by Ramsey City Council on June 8, <br />plans and specifications and the advertisement for bids for the above- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 1999 Street Maintenance <br />Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on June 8, 1999; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received for Division C - Bituminous Overlay: <br /> <br />Bidder Amount of Bid <br /> <br />Bauerly Companies <br />North Valley, Inc. <br />Hardrives, Inc. <br />W.B. Miller, Inc. <br />Midwest Asphalt Corporation <br /> <br />$202,875.00 <br />$202,781.25 <br />$208,498.50 <br />$198,375.00 <br />$189,660.00 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />$214,200.00 <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, it appears that Midwest Asphalt Corporation is the lowest responsible <br />bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Midwest Asphalt Corporation in the name of the City of Ramsey for the <br />1998 Street Maintenance Program - Division C - Bituminous Overlay (Improvement <br />Projects 4498-08 through #98-12) in the amount of $189,660.00. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br /> <br />
