Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #99-07-135 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF TENNIS COURTS AT CENTRAL PARK <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the 1998 Capital Improvement Program designated $63,000 for the <br />construction of tennis courts at Central Park; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this project was delayed until 1999 due to the Fire Station site issue; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of the tennis <br />courts at Central Park, six bids were received and opened on April 1, 1999; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the following quotes were received for Central Park Tennis Court <br />Construction: <br /> <br />Bidder Amount of Bid <br /> <br />W.B. Miller <br />Midwest Asphalt Corp. <br />Omann Brothers <br />Dermco/LaVine <br />Barber Co. <br />Frattalone Paving <br /> <br />$46,806.50 <br /> 49,900.90 <br /> 50,816.25 <br /> 55,327.12 <br /> 56,778.28 <br /> 88,534.00 <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, it appears that W.B. Miller is the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with W.B. Miller in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of <br />tennis courts in Central Park in the amount of $46,806.50. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the Parks and Utility Director is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith <br />to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful <br />bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br /> <br />
