Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #99-07-136 <br /> RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE <br /> CONSTRUCTION OF TENNIS COURTS AT CENTRAL PARK <br /> WHEREAS, the 1998 Capital Improvement Program designated $63,000 for the <br /> construction of tennis courts at Central Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, this project was delayed until 1999 due to the Fire Station site issue; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement f'or bids for the construction of the tennis <br /> courts at Central Park, six bids were received and opened on April 1, 1999; and <br /> WHEREAS, the following quotes were received for Central Park Tennis Court <br /> Construction: <br /> Bidder Amount of Bid <br /> W.B. Miller $46,806.50 <br /> Midwest Asphalt Corp. 49,900.90 <br /> Omann Brothers 50,816.25 <br /> Dermco/LaVine 55,327.12 <br /> Barber Co. 56,778.28 <br /> Frattalone Paving 88,534.00 <br /> AND WHEREAS, it appears that W.B. Miller is the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RAMSEY,ANOKA COUNTY,STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br /> contract with W.B. Miller in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of <br /> tennis courts in Central Park in the amount of$46,806.50, <br /> 2) That the Parks and Utility Director is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith <br /> to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful <br /> bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> Hendriksen, and upon vote being taken thereon,the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> Mayor Gamec <br /> Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> Councilmember Hendriksen <br /> Councilmember Anderson <br />
