Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #99-07-136 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF TENNIS COURTS AT CENTRAL PARK WHEREAS, the 1998 Capital Improvement Program designated $63,000 for the construction of tennis courts at Central Park; and WHEREAS, this project was delayed until 1999 due to the Fire Station site issue; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement f'or bids for the construction of the tennis courts at Central Park, six bids were received and opened on April 1, 1999; and WHEREAS, the following quotes were received for Central Park Tennis Court Construction: Bidder Amount of Bid W.B. Miller $46,806.50 Midwest Asphalt Corp. 49,900.90 Omann Brothers 50,816.25 Dermco/LaVine 55,327.12 Barber Co. 56,778.28 Frattalone Paving 88,534.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that W.B. Miller is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY,ANOKA COUNTY,STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with W.B. Miller in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of tennis courts in Central Park in the amount of$46,806.50, 2) That the Parks and Utility Director is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, and upon vote being taken thereon,the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councilmember Zimmerman Councilmember Hendriksen Councilmember Anderson
