Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #99-10-204 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE NAME "ELMCREST PARK" FOR THE 83 <br />ACRE PARK WEST OF T.H. 47 AND NORTH OF 160TM LANE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, all developed or significant park spaces in the City of Ramsey have <br />names except for the newest acquisition which is intended to serve as a Community park; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Commission sponsored a name the park <br />challenge; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, several nominations were received and evaIuated by the <br />Commission; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, "Elmcrest Park" was selected by the Commission for its historical <br />reference to the land which will be a park for perpetuity; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the process and name for the park meets with the intent of <br />Resolution #91-06-138 - Public Facility Naming. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />I. That the City Council adopt the name Elmcrest Park as the place name for the <br /> referenced parkland. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Coun¢ilmember Connolly, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Connolly <br />Councilmember Anderson <br />Councilmember Hendriksen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
