Councihnember Connolly introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #99-12-234 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPOINTING THE CITY ENGINEER AS THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br />REPRESENTATIVE TO THE LOWER RUM RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT <br />ORGANIZATION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has been represented by its City Engineer since the inception of the <br />Lower Rum River Water Management Organization; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this organization routinely deals with technical issues and the issuance of <br />permits relating to construction and water quality issues; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the representation of the City by its City Engineer has served the goals of <br />the City and the Lower Rum River Water Management Organization well for more than a <br />decade; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a recent change in state law prohibits the appointment, but not the serving, <br />of any City Staff as a member on the board of a water management organization after December <br />31, 1999. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />That the City Engineer shall serve as the City of Ramsey's representative to the Lower Rum <br />River Water Management Organization until such time as the City Council determines that <br />the City would be better represented otherwise. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Anderson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Connolly <br />Councilmember Anderson <br />Councilmember Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br /> <br />
