Motion by Commissioner Sis, seconded by Commissioner Ealain, to approve the following Park <br /> and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes as corrected: <br /> • Park and Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes date August 8, 2024 <br /> Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Barten;Commissioners Sis,Ealain, and Arts. Voting No:None. <br /> Absent: Commissioners Bennett and Olson. Abstain: Commissioner Leistico. <br /> 5. COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> 5.01: Playground Opening at The Hollow <br /> Parks & Assistant Public Works Director Riverblood identified some additional planting, <br /> landscaping, and concrete work remaining to be completed. <br /> The Commission recessed to conduct a ribbon cutting of the playground at The Hollows, the new <br /> one-acre park within the Riverstone South neighborhood. <br /> The Commission returned to the meeting. <br /> 5.02: Recommend the 2025 —2034 Parks Capital Improvement Plan <br /> Parks & Assistant Public Works Director Riverblood stated that the Parks Capital Improvement <br /> Plan is a planning document and explained how it is used. He reviewed the projects included <br /> within the next ten-year period, along with details on feasible financial contributions and <br /> anticipating timing of projects. He reiterated that this is a planning document with estimated costs. <br /> Chair Barten stated that he likes the document as it provides transparency to the public in terms of <br /> what is planned for the parks department. <br /> Motion by Commissioner Sis, seconded by Commissioner Arts, to recommend approval of the <br /> 2025-2034 Parks Capital Improvement Plan. <br /> Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Barten; Commissioners Sis, Arts, Ealain, and Leistico. Voting <br /> No: None. Absent: Commissioners Bennett and Olson. <br /> 5.03: Recreation Program Update <br /> Parks & Assistant Public Works Director Riverblood stated that there is a written report for the <br /> Commission to review. He noted that a more detailed summary will be provided at the October <br /> meeting. He stated that the Commission can also sign up for the monthly recreation newsletter. <br /> 6.
