Councilmember Musgrove introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #24-277 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 4 TO NORTHDALE <br /> CONSTRUCTION FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #21-08, WATER TREATMENT <br /> PLANT TRUNK WATERMAIN IMPROVEMENTS <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution 423-305 adopted November <br /> 28, 2023, a construction contract was awarded to Northdale Construction Co. Inc., of Albertville, <br /> Minnesota, in the amount of$6,671,414.00 for said improvements; and <br /> WHEREAS, during construction, field changes were required at the intersection at <br /> Center Street and Bunker Lake Boulevard to relocate a fire hydrant out of the bike trail at a total <br /> cost of$11,472.53; and <br /> WHEREAS, during construction, field changes were required on the east side of Ramsey <br /> Boulevard at 143rd Avenue when an unused 6-inch water service was discovered requiring the <br /> contractor to remove the service and gate valve and to plug the stub at a total cost of$13,893.21; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, during construction, field changes were required at 7060 143rd Avenue <br /> when a 6-inch sewer service conflict was discovered requiring the contractor to cut the riser <br /> down to avoid a conflict with the new 20" watermain at a total cost of$7,942.55; and <br /> WHEREAS, during construction, field changes were required at Jasper Street and 143rd <br /> Avenue when a major storm sewer conflict was discovered requiring additional watermain <br /> fittings to lower the watermain to avoid the conflict at a total cost of$42,019.15; and <br /> WHEREAS, during construction, field changes were required at station 115+18 on <br /> 143rd Avenue to avoid an existing 6" sewer service requiring additional curb and gutter to be <br /> removed and replaced, and watermain had to be realigned to avoid storm sewer and a catch <br /> basin, at a total cost of$12,165.49; and <br /> WHEREAS, during construction, field changes were required at North Commons Park <br /> when additional wire was needed to connect the flow meter to the cabinet due to field changes <br /> for the final cabinet location as directed by City staff at a total cost of$875.44; and <br /> WHEREAS, during construction, field changes were required to install 2 temporary <br /> mailboxes at a total cost of$630.00; and <br /> WHEREAS, Change Order No. 4 documents the required field changes completed and <br /> required by Northdale Construction for improvement project 421-08, WTP Trunk Watermain <br /> Improvements, in the amount of$88,998.37. <br />
