Spotlight on Opioids and Overdose Event is Nov. 2 —Add 1
In 2021, the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General joined a $26 billion multi-state
settlement agreement with more than a dozen companies that manufactured, sold, or distributed
prescription painkillers for their role in fueling the opioid crisis. As part of this settlement, Anoka
County anticipates receiving approximately $18 million in disbursements over the next 18 years
to address the opioid crisis and prevent opioid deaths in our community.
Settlement funding is allocated exclusively for initiatives focused on treatment and
prevention within the areas of public health, human services, and public safety. This presents a
chance to support approaches that not only tackle mental health and substance use requirements
but also prioritize community-based primary prevention and strategies aimed at enhancing the
well-being of children and families.
For more information on Anoka County Opioid Solutions Initiative, visit
anokacounlymn.gov/ACOSI.
-30-
S avERDosE
tpll
SATURDAY •
Presentations by experts on
• 2 opioids and addiction
NOVFree Naloxone and training
+y /► t avaiable to attendees
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM ° Panel of individuals sharing their
stories of addiction,recovery,&
Columbia Academy hope
900 49th Ave NE,Columbia Heights
Gymnoelnm Over 30 community healthcare,
treatment,&recovery vendors
Come and see how Anoka County is
responding to the opicid epidemic. This Free coffee"&pizza
FREE event aims to raise awareness
about overdose prevention and provide Join us and be part of this
support for individuals and Families important conversation as we work
affected by substance abuse.A day towards creating a safer and
filled with insightful education, healthier Anoka County.
discussions, informative sessions and 'Coffeefiom Serenity Bean toffee
networking opportunities.. p p
For more information on event
speakers and vendors
l scan QR code or visit:
AnokaCountyMN.gov/ACOSI
ANOKA COUNTY
IOiID SOLUTIONS INITIATIVE
WB:bv
