6. 10. CC Regular Session Meeting Date: 10/22/2024 Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Improve the safety and mobility of transportation corridors. Title: Adopt Resolution #24-295 Accepting Proposals and Awarding a Contract for Topographic Survey for 2025 Neighborhood Pavement Overlay Improvements, Improvement Project #25-07 and Sunwood Drive Concrete Pedestrian Crossing Replacements, Improvement Project #25-08. Purpose/Background: Purpose: The purpose of this case is to adopt Resolution #24-295 accepting proposals and awarding a topographic survey contract for Improvement Project #25-07, 2025 Neighborhood Pavement Overlay Improvements and Improvement Project #25-08, Sunwood Drive Concrete Pedestrian Crossing Replacements. Background: The current 2025 - 2034 10-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) has not been approved by City Council; but to solicit bids this winter for the proposed 2025 Neighborhood Pavement Overlay Improvements and Sunwood Drive Pedestrian Crossing Replacements, Staff needs to begin designing the project and preparing plans. Topographic surveys are essential to locate all existing site features and to create an existing ground surface, used as the base for designing the pedestrian ramp improvements. Staff sent request for proposals for a topographic survey for 2025 Neighborhood Pavement Overlay Improvements and Sunwood Drive Pedestrian Crossing Replacements, a copy of which is attached to this case. Notification: If awarded, Staff will send notification letters out to impacted residents to inform them of the survey crews working in the neighborhood. Time Frame/Observations/Alternatives: Motion to adopt Resolution #24-295 accepting proposals and awarding a topographic survey contract for Improvement Project #25-07, 2025 Neighborhood Pavement Overlay Improvements and Improvement Project #25-08, Sunwood Drive Pedestrian Crossing Replacements. Funding Source: Funding for this work is proposed to come from Municipal State Aid Funds and the Pavement Management Funds. Recommendation: Staff recommends adopting Resolution #24-295 accepting topographic survey proposals for 2025 Neighborhood Pavement Overlay, Improvement Project #24-295 and Sunwood Drive concrete pedestrian crossing replacements, Improvement Project #25-08. Outcome/Action: Motion to adopt Resolution #24-295 accepting proposals and awarding a topographic survey contract for Improvement Project #25-07, 2025 Neighborhood Pavement Overlay Improvements and Improvement Project #25-08, Sunwood Drive Pedestrian Crossing Replacements.
