\

.

TO: City Administrator

FROM: Building Official

RE: .permit Fees

DATE: March 2, 1983

As per our discussion, I have contacted surrounding communities and found that
our fee schedule for permits is not in line with those of adjoining communities.
Based on my findings, I would recommend that we adopt the following:

1) Building Permits: Permit fees as established by the 1982 U.B.C.

Plan Check Fees:

50% of the permit fee for all commercial, industrial
and multiple dwellings; $50.00 for single family
residential, new dwellings only; no plan check
fee for all other residential permits

- -

$10.00 for the water piping and $4.00 per opening
on the waste and vent plus the surcharge and a $5.00
plan check; minimum permit would be $10.00 plus the
plan check and surcharge

2) Plumbing Permits:

3) Sewer Permits:

$50.00 plus the surcharge

.4) Heating Permits:

$30.00

These proposed fees represent about a 65% increase in building permits which have
not been changed since 1976 and it would be my recommendation they be adopted as
they are comparible to surrounding communities.

I have attached copies of the 1976 and 1982 U.B.C. fee schedules for your information.

~z:Sz ;1;7

~~
~ (P3-_)
