<br />Hydrant Maintenance <br />All hydrants on the distribution system and at the pumphouse should be <br /> <br />inspected and operated as follows: <br /> <br />1. Flush hydrants on a semi-annual basis. <br />2. Flush hydrants on dead-end mains on a quarterly basis. <br /> <br />3. Discharge water to nearest storm sewer catchbasin or sanitary <br /> <br />sewer manhole during hydrant flushing. <br /> <br />4. The inspection <br /> <br />should include: <br /> <br />1. Clean valve boxes as necessary. <br /> <br />2. Replace b=oken valve box sections and cove=s. <br /> <br />3. Open and close valves a minimum of once a year. <br /> <br />4.
