<br />Volunteer Fire Department <br />Selection of Fire Board Members by Judy Thul - Personnel Coordinator <br /> <br />Background: The Fire Safety Committee has been recruiting applicants for <br />membership to the Volunteer Fire Department and is anticipat- <br />ing the first department meeting of members to be held on <br />September 8. 1988. Members of the Fire Safety Committee will <br />be attending the department meetings until a Fire Chief is <br />selected, and to contribute to decisions made for the purchase <br />of department equipment. The agenda for the first department <br />meeting will include discussion of equipment needed and <br />delegating nlembers of the department to work on specifications <br />for the purchase of: <br /> <br />1. Turn-out gear <br /> <br />2. Pagers <br /> <br />3. Grass Rig <br /> <br />A tentative date of September 22, 1988 has been set for the <br />first Fire Board Meeting. Three members from the Fire Safety <br />Committee have been selected to serve on the Fire Board until <br />the time that a fire chief is selected and members elect their <br />own representatives. Those members are: <br /> <br />Willard Breu <br />James Cordie <br />Bill Rustad <br /> <br />Recommendation: The Fire Safety Committee requests that the City Council <br />appoint two council members to serve on the Fire Board. <br />
