I I CASE #4: MR. BILL DORN REGARDING RUM RIVER ffiLLS PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT: I Mr. Dom will be discussing with Council certain action he would like for you to take in regards to the above P.U.D. I Council Action: Your action will depend upon what he wants from the Council. CASE #5: PLANNER (URBAN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PLANNER): I The City Staff position of Urban Economic Development Planner was discussed in 1980 and 1981 and finally in the spring of 1981 it was decided by the City Council to hold up on the creating of this position, not because there wasn't a need for it but because of the state of the economy in the State of Minnesota and the Country. I I It has been discussed with the Council Personnel Committee and they have indicated that it should be brought before the Council for your consideration. Accordingly, enclosure (DZ-b) contains a needs statement for said position. I Council Action: Your action will be to approve/disapprove of accomplishing the following: I a) Authorize the Council Personnel Committee to establish job description and a salary range for the position of Urban Economic Development Pianner. I b) Authorize the City Administrator to advertise for candidates to fill said posi tion. I c) Appoint selection committee consisting of the Council Personnel Committee, Planning Commission Chairman, Park and Recreation Commission Chairman, Economic Development Commission Chairman and City Administrator to interview candidates and make: a recommendation to the City Council. I b) Authorize the City Administrator to advertise for the position opening. c) Appoint selection committee consisting of the following persons: I 1) Council Personnel Committee 2) City Administrator 3) Planning Commission Chairman 4) Park and Recreation Commission Chairman 5) Economic Development Commission Chairman I I Further, this Committee would submit to Council three names ranked in order. Names of all applicants would be available for Council review if requested. I Motion carried.
