I

B. Schools

I

C. Police

I
I

D. Fire

E. Maintenance

F. Etc.

I
I
I

Dick Carson - Regarding density, we are not looking at 50 people/acre, what
we are proposing will involve a maximum of 21 people/acre (3 people/unit).
Expensive housing, in the same category as Flintwood I, will not seel when
situated on a MSA route.

Commissioner Deemer stated that the alignment of the subject MSA road is being
dictated by a proposed Anoka County plan. If Anoka would realign, then the
developers would also relocate. Anoka is not agreeable to relocating this
MSA road.

I

Mr. Berg stated that the MSA road was originally planned to go up Germanium
and in negotiations with Anoka, Ramsey got it relocated as far east as it is
now proposed.

I

Mr. Data - Maybe Anoka would be willing to move if further east.

I
I

Commissioner Deemer - That MSA road could conceivably become Hwy. 47 in the
future.

I

Ralph Hendrikson - 5460 l40th Lane - It is very dangerous to put this type of
housing adjacent to a major thoroughfare; it would be criminal to build
multiples that close to a busy road. Usually multiple dwellings are set back
from a major thoroughfare. In the best interest of the people that will be
living in Flintwood II, we should consider a less densely packed type of
housing.

I
I

Mr. Stan Data - Children residing in Flintwood II will not have a place to
play and will cross these busy streets to get to the park. In reply to
Mr. Dick Carsons density statement, I was referring to density projections
immediately adjacent to Flintwood I which would be 8-unit buildings; two
buildings x 8 units x 3 people per unit = 48.

I
I
I

Jim Cordie - 14100 Fluorine - Have noticed multiples on Hwy. 10 and it is
almost a suicide situation; a 48' wide road is not wide enough to handle
the traffic that results from high-density housing.

Kay McCUlley - 14431 Wolfram - Requested clarification of Commissioner Deemer's
comments regarding the MSA road becoming Hwy. 47 in the future.

commissioner Deemer - It is being proposed that Thurston Avenue cross the
railroad tracks, (Ramsey has requested an overpass or an underpass), and
connect with Industry Blvd. Possibly, it will cross cty. Rd. #5 before it
gets to Hwy. #47 and that intersection will be reconstructed.

I'

Kay McCulley - Would the apartments be adjacent to this b~sy intersection?

I

Co~,ission8r Deemer - Yes, but by the looks of the preliminary plan the buildings
r~~.' - -: :;crc ....'QuId most likely be two bedroom condominiu:ns.

Sp P & 2/Kovember 29, 1983
~.~: } =- c REoaring
