Mayor Gamec commended Ms. Carroll on her outstanding <br />job and informed her that she could use the City of Ramsey as reference in the <br />fut ure . <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Case #2: Metro Council's Proposed Interim Economic Policies: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner <br />approving of the Metro Council's proposed Interim Economic Policies. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Counci1members Sorteberg, Reimann and <br />Van Wagner. Voting No: Councilmember Schlueter. <br /> <br />Counci1member Schlueter stated that she based her 'no' vote on the following: <br /> <br />1. How soon will it be before they are involved with actual operating versus <br />planning, which is what they were set up to do in the first place. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />2. If legislature was doing it's job, the business climate would be better. <br />They are passing responsibility onto the Metro Council. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />3. There are various interpretations of 'quality of life'. <br /> <br />4. Another level of government is just another arm of the octopus. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />5. Ramsey has displayed a negative attitude towards the Metro Council in the <br />past. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />6. One of the main deterrences to business growth is worJanans compensation. <br /> <br />Case #3: DNR Regarding The J\mending Of 'lhe City Of Ramsey's Enviornmenta1 <br />Protection Ordinance: <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that DNR has identified 11 shore lands in Ramsey and classify <br />them as national environment waters and they have requested Ramsey to review <br />these shore1ands to determine if they are actually shore lands or should the <br />regulations on those lands be lessened. <br /> <br />Motion by Counci1member Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to <br />authorize the City Engineer to assist City staff in amending the City's <br />Environmental Ordinance to meet certain DNR standards. 'lhe cost will not <br />exceed $1500. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner.
