C / <br />L <br />I <br />1 <br />1 <br />I <br />1 <br />I <br />City of Ramsey <br />15153 NOWTHEN BOULEVARD N.W., RAMSEY, MINNESOTA 55303 • (612) 427.1410 <br />August 6, 1985 <br />TO: Whom It May Concern <br />RE: Collapsed Deck at 14951 Juniper Ridge Drive NW, Ramsey <br />DATE: August 6, 1985 <br />I today inspected the deck that collapsed at the above referenced address. <br />It is my opinion that deterioration of the wood members caused the problem. <br />It appears that the support post to the east sheared, causing the fastners <br />(nailing) to pull loose in all structured areas of the deck. <br />I would note that the method of construction is not very stable and any twisting <br />or movement could have caused the failure. Additional bracing should have <br />been installed to prevent this problem. <br />' The similar deck on the westerly portion of the dwelling should be checked <br />and reinforced before a similar failure occurs. <br />1 <br /> II <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />Z <br />Clayton R.
