August 22, 1985 <br />TO: City Administrator <br />FROM: City Planner <br />RE: Monthly Staff Report <br />Economic Development Commission: The EDC is continuing to work <br />on the establishment of a revolving loan fund using Community <br />Development Block Grant funds. The loan fund would be used for <br />economic development activities in the City and would be funneled <br />through the Economic Development Company so that any funds that <br />are loaned out will be paid back to the City rather than the <br />County. The Company will start selling stock the first week in <br />September; stock is available to any interested individuals or <br />businesses for $25 per share. The Commission is in the process <br />of organizing a tour of Ramsey businesses; the Commission will be <br />inviting the Council to go on the tour. <br />Planning and Zoning Commission: The Planning and Zoning <br />Commission has completed their review of the zoning ordinance and <br />a draft of the recodification is complete. The Commission is <br />planning to review this draft during two meetings in September. <br />After completing the review of the draft, the Commission will <br />submit the draft to the City Council and will hold a joint work <br />session with the Council to review the ordinance. <br />Other: Due to the reorganization at Metropolitan Council, the <br />North Metro Traffic Task Force (this group is staffed by Met <br />Council staff) has not met for the past several months. However, <br />Jim Uttley at Met Council stated that he expects the group to <br />resume meeting in early September. I will keep you informed of <br />activities and progress of that group. Now that the <br />recodification of the zoning ordinance seems to be near <br />completion, the City Attorney and I are working on recodifying <br />the rest of the City Code. <br />0 %a <br />
