I underatand tbe concerna <br />contained in moat of tbe commenta; however, I am confuaed by <br />tboae commenta regarding tbe conaiatency of tbe City'a policy <br />regarding rural reaidential denaitiea vitb reapect to tbe intent <br />of the City' a Comprebenaive Plan and the Metropolitan Council'a <br />rural reaidential denaity atandard. <br /> <br />As you may know. in late 1984 the Metropoiitan Council ezpreaaed <br />concern about tbe City'a lack of a policy for calculating and <br />maintaining a rural reaidential denaity atandard conaiatent witb <br />that of the Metropolitan Council and tbe City'a Comprehenaive <br />Plan. To try to reaolve thia iaaue. Metropolitan Council ataff <br />peraon Jim Barton attended a meeting of the ~amaey Planning and <br />Zoning Commiaaion to diacuaa the matter and the Council'a <br />concerns. <br /> <br />Aa I recall. Mr. Barton atated that tbe Council vaa concerned <br />that Ramaey did not have a policy for maintaining the rural. <br />cbaracter of the rural portiona of the City and for conaiatently <br />calculating the residential denaitiea of rural developmenta. Mr. <br />Barton alao noted that Ramsey'a situation vaa more difficult than <br />other communitiea due to the number of Iota that had already been <br />platted. In addition.
