<br />The various habitats provide food and cover for different wildlife <br />species. Representative wildlife species associated with various <br />habitats include: <br /> <br />o Oak savanna: ruffed grouse, wood cock, thrushes, vireos, <br />woodpeckers, squirrel, raccoon, and white tailed deer. <br /> <br />o Open uplands: pheasant, meadowlark, field sparrow, killdeer, <br />cottontail rabbit, red fox, and woodchuck. <br /> <br />o Wetlands: ducks, geese, herons, shorebirds, rails, king- <br />fishers, muskrat, mink, and beaver. <br /> <br />Sensitive or protected species may use the area. Several protected <br />bird species (bald eagles, peregrine falcons, and trumpeter swans) may <br />use the area for migratory purposes. Other sensitive or protected <br />species (plants and animals) that have been found in Anoka or <br />Sherburne Counties and potentially may occur in the project area are <br />shown in Table 21. <br /> <br />TABLE 21.
