<br />Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-05-142 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION COMMENDING ANOKA COUNTY COMMISSIONER DENNIS BERG <br />FOR HIS OUTSTANDING DEDICATION AND SERVICE TO THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Commissioner Dennis Berg began his public service career in 1973 with <br />his election to the Bums Township Board of Supervisors, where he served for 18 years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Commissioner Berg has served in the capacity of Anoka County <br />Commissioner since March 13,1991, being elected as Vice-Chair in 2005; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Commissioner Berg has provided over 33 years of outstanding, dedicated <br />service to the citizens of Anoka County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Commissioner Berg has been the instrumental influence in increasing <br />county highway funding and improving our County-wide and beyond transportation systems, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Commissioner Berg has eamed the respect and admiration of his peers, <br />colleagues, fellow commissioners, the community, and citizens throughout the State of <br />Minnesota, for his knowledge, dedication, optimism and ability to improve our quality of life; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Commissioner Berg was awarded the "Citizens Service Award" in 2005 <br />from the MN County Engineers Association; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Commissioner Berg was awarded the "2005 Presidential Award" from the <br />Association of Minnesota Counties. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />I) That the City of Ramsey is adopting this resolution in appreciation of Commissioner <br />Dennis Berg for his outstanding service and dedication to our City, to Anoka County, <br />to our citizens, and the entire State of Minnesota, for his accomplishments and <br />success in improving our quality of life. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Pearson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro tern Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Olson <br /> <br />Resolution #06-05-142 <br />Page 1 of2 <br />
