DRAFT Anoka County Contract No. 2006- REVISED JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT FOR RIGHT -OF- WAY ACQUISITION FOR THE FUTURE . NORTHWEST METRO CORRIDOR AND RIVER CROSSING . . OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER AT TH 10 AND COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 83 (ARMSTRONG BOULEVARD) . THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this _ day of , 2006 by and between the County of Anoka, a political subdivision of the State of Minnesota, 2100 Third Avenue, Anoka, Minnesota 55303, hereinafter referred to as "County'i, and the City of Ramsey, a municipal corporation under the laws of the State of Minnesota, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303, hereinafter referred to as the "City". WITNESSETH WHEREAS, the County and the City agree that it is in the best interest of the public to provide plans for geometric and capacity improvements for a future interchange for the Northwest Metro Corridor and Mississippi River Crossing at TH 10 and CSAH 83 (Armstrong Boulevard) ("Interchange"); and, WHEREAS, the City and County agree that it is in the best interest of the public to purchase the Interchange Property at this time and to share in the cost of the acquisition as hereinafter provided; and WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. S 471.59 authorizes political subdivisions of the state to enter into joint powers agreements for the joint exercise of powers common to each. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS MUTUALLY STIPULATED AND AGREED: I. PURPOSE The parties have joined together for the purpose of purchasing the Interchange Property and sharing the cost of acquisition as hereinafter provided. ll.
