<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />ST A TE OF MINNESOtA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at <br />the Ramsey Fire Station Number 1, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Al Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Ass't Community Development Dir/HRA Executive Dir. Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Elvig called the City'Council Work Session to order at 5:52 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />. The agenda was' amended as follows - with regard to order of discussion: Case Nos. 1, 7, 2, 3, 4, <br />5, and 6. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Landfill Environmental Attorney <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman indicated staff has been having difficulties recently in the <br />discussions with representatives from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (PCA). The City <br />is interested in the land of the underutilized property of the landfill site for purposes of the Public <br />Works facility and industrial uses. After consultation with the engineers of the Bolton & Menk <br />firm, a recommendation was made to utilize the services of a specialist in the environmental <br />field. Dan Colton of the Leonard Street and Dei'nard .Law Firm, which specializes in <br />environmental issues and dealing with the PCA is present tonight to discuss the possible. <br />relationship between his firm and the City. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen inquired what the sticking points are in dealing with the PCA. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session I June 6, 2006 <br />Page 1 of9 <br /> <br />-87- <br />
