<br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Anoka Technical Institute building is over 40 years old and originally <br />built as a manufacturing plant, and <br />WHEREAS, there is a need to upgrade its ineffective and inefficient heating/cooling <br />system, and <br />WHEREAS, there is a need to upgrade several safety and health features of the <br />building including sprinkler system, toilet facilities, handicap accessibility, and <br />WHEREAS, there is a need to remodel some partially completed areas for necessary <br />classroom space, and <br />WHEREAS, there is a need to upgrade access and exit roadways for safety and <br />better institutional accessibility, and <br />WHEREAS, there is a need to respond to technological changes by upgrading our <br />Media Center and construct a teleconference center/auditorium, and <br />WHEREAS, we believe the Anoka Technical Institute provides a valuable service to <br />the citizens of our community by preparing our citizens for employment, as well as to <br />upgrade and to retrain them in their present employment; <br />BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that <br />supports the request of Anoka Technical Institute to the legislature for obtaining the <br />necessary funding for the construction and remodeling changes as described in their 1988 <br />capital building request. <br /> <br />SIGNA TURES: <br /> <br />Date <br /> <br />W3 <br />
