<br />15 Minutes <br /> <br />CASE j2: <br /> <br />REOUEST FOR CITY PARTICIPATION (TAX INCREMENT FINAOC~) IN PROOOSED <br />FACILITY AND RB;)UFSr FOR SITE PLAN REVIEW 1 CASE CF ATLAS INCINERATORS <br />By: Anne NOrris, Ccmnunity Developnent Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Atlas Incinerators, Inc. is proposing to construct their corporate <br />headquarters, manufacturing operations and research facility on 16 acres <br />located northwest of Cty. M. *116 and Sunfish Lake Blvd. N.W. The facility <br />will include 9,600 s:;ruare feet of two-story office space; 28,000 square feet <br />manufacturing area; and 28,000 s:;ruare feet for a research and service facility. <br />The buildings are proposed to be constructed of precast concrete. <br /> <br />Atlas Incinerators, Inc. is requesting City participation in their proposed <br />project for site improvements to the project including landscaping, storm <br />drainage, site preparation, security lighting and fencing. In addition, Atlas <br />Incinerators is requesting assistance with the cost of the site. <br /> <br />The proposed project is located within Tax Incranent Financing District No. 2 <br />and Developnent District No. l. <br /> <br />Enclosed are the following items for your information: <br /> <br />a) Si te location map <br />b) Proposed site plan <br />c) Application for tax increment financing <br /> <br /> <br />ct>servations: <br /> <br />The Economic Developnent Commission reV'iewed Atlas' request on Nay 10, 1988; at <br />that time, the Commission recommended City participation in the project. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission will rev iew Atlas' request on June 23, 1988; their <br />recommendation will be available at the meeting. <br /> <br />The preliminary cash flCM projections for the project show that the proposed <br />project will generate sufficient increment for the City to be able to <br />participate in the project as requested by Atlas. <br /> <br />Recanmendation: <br /> <br />COuncil Action: <br />Motion to: <br />P-.pprovejdeny Atlas' request for City participation in their project. <br /> <br />-and- <br />Notion to: <br />~..pprovejdeny Atlas Incinerators, Inc.
