The total low bid received is approximately 19.6 <br />per~ent below the engineer's estimate. <br /> <br />As you are aware, Project 88-2 Variolite Street and 155th Avenue <br />are State Aid Streets. This project was approved by Mn/DOT on June <br />24, 1988 as indicated in the attached letter. Since state aid <br />funds will be used on Variolite Street and 155th Avenue, the <br />Contractor will have to pay the prevailing wage rates. <br /> <br />The low bidder, Astech Corporation, has satisfactorily completed <br />projects in the area. We, therefore, recommend that the project be <br />awarded to the low bidder for the amount of $54,674.50.
