PLANNING AND ZONIN,, COMMISSION <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANCKA COUNPY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on <br />Tuesday, March 1, 1988 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. <br />N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Mr. Jon Rambosek's request for <br />preliminary plat approval of Rambosek Red Oa}; Estates. <br />Members Present: Mr. Gerald Zimmerman, Chairman <br />Mr. Roy Shumaay <br />Mr. Jim Howell <br />Fir. Terry Hendriksen <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br />Also Present: Community Develognent Director Anne Norris <br />Members Absent: Mr. Michael Terry <br />Mr. Jim Holm <br />Chairman Zimmerman called the public hearing to order at 7:38 p.m. <br />4 ►!u m <br />Steve Nixon - 16300 Wolfram - Stated that everybody in the surrounding area <br />should be notified when roads are going to be extended or land will be <br />graded. The City Engineer was not aware of preparation of land last fall <br />until the third time we contacted him. At that time, Mr. Rambosek did not <br />have the necessary permits to begin preparing the land; also will be <br />checking with DNR and the Corps of Engineers to determine whether he can <br />dig out wetlands or remove trees and bury the debris on the lots that will <br />be developed. Stated he moved to Ramsey to get away trom busy city life <br />and he is concerned with the increase of traffic that will result from <br />extending roads and developing. One year ago, when Voltin's Oak Hill <br />Estates was platted, the citizens were told that the cul -de -sacs would be <br />the extent of new roads in this area. Menkveld's Country Park is a low <br />crime area and increased traffic through the area will change -hat. Stated <br />he is working on a petition requesting that the City leave Voltin's Oak <br />Hill Estates as is with no further subdividing and roads. <br />Torn Rachel - 635U 163rd Lane - Stated he has no opposition to the plat with <br />4 lots provided the road is not extended through the plat to join with <br />other additions. The increased traffic would impact the lifestyle, privacy <br />and property values in Men}cveld's Country Park. <br />Chairman Zimmerman requested a show of hands from persons desiring trat <br />Rambosek's Rd Oak Estates be developed with a cul -de -sac rather than a <br />Planning and Zoning Public hearing /March 1, 1988 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />5 <br />
